The short answer
A Lorcana promo card is a card given out outside boosters: at store events and Disney Lorcana Challenges, at the Disney D23 expo, or in boxes and special products. In the gotem. catalogue they have the Special rarity and are grouped by series (Promos 1, 2, 3…, Challenge Promos, D23). Most are worth little; some, given out in very small numbers, are worth a lot.
What is a promo card?
A promo is a card you don't open in a standard booster: you get it with a product, at an event, as a reward or as a gift.
A Lorcana promo has a promo number instead of a chapter number. In gotem., they have the "Special" rarity, along with event cards and products like Illumineer's Quest.
How you get them
- At store events: launch nights, leagues and tournaments.
- At Disney Lorcana Challenges, the big official tournaments.
- At the Disney D23 expo and other Disney events.
- In boxes and special products.
Promotions change from year to year and country to country: check official announcements and shops near you.
